Training Per Se Will Not Improve Your Golf Game

You can go to the golf course and play as often as you can hoping that practice makes perfect, but progress will be excruciatingly low. If you want to steadily improve your game, constant practice would not be enough and can even harm your game if you don’t have the right fundamentals and don’t go through the proper drills. You will be making a habit of your errors or weakness without a practice plan, whereas you can focus on correcting those weaknesses if you follow a well conceived training regimen.
Exercising your body is necessary so you can correctly execute the different swings in golf. The exercise for this is something like the push-up. Go into the prone position with only the hands and the feet touching the floor to support your body. Then, lift your right hand and left leg up and balance for 10-15 seconds. Do it again with your left hand and right leg raised this time. The purpose is to add strength to your arms and legs and controlling your balance.
The easiest shot to practice is the putt because you can do it even outside of the golf course. At home, you can putt a few shots during each commercial break of your favorite show. You can do it at the office also taking advantage of your every free time even for only a few minutes all day long. Putt at a distance of a few feet, and also over the entire length of your living room or office. Getting used to putting almost every day will calm your nerves when playing real games and make you putt better.
Get a feel of how your body takes the strain as you practice all the moves and strokes in golf. You should notice if your lower back needs strengthening. Would increased flexibility help you perform better? That is why physical conditioning is an important component of a golf training program. If your drills help you identify areas where you can strengthen your body, by all means incorporate some exercises into your fitness routine to combat those weaknesses.
Drills can hone in on particular problem areas and really help you focus on the steps to improve those areas. You will have a real good time playing golf if you see your game getting better all the time.
