Joseph Jagger The Roulette Winner

Posted on July 30th, 2010 in Sports | No Comments »

While the vast majority of players never make it big playing roulette, every now and then there is somebody who figures it out and makes out like a bandit. One of these players was a man named Joseph Jagger. Joseph Jagger in a short time was over five-million dollars by destroying the Monte Carlo Casino.

Joseph Jagger knew that it was possible for roulette wheels to develop biases. He hired six people to track the results of roulette spins of the wheels at the Monte Carlo Casino. Data was collected for an extended period of time. Once Jagger had analyzed all of the data he noticed that a few numbers came up enough for it to be more than a simple statistic anomaly.

A specific wheel demonstrated a clear bias towards the following numbers 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 19, 22, 28, and 29 these numbers were by far the most common results at that wheel. So what did Jagger do? The same thing I hope most people would do. He strolled into that casino, and strolled out with a lot more money than he walked in with.

During July of 1875 Jagger took at seat at the malfunctioning wheel and placed bet after bet on seven. It did not take very long for Jagger to win a large sum of money. Jagger had what every gambler dreams of having, knowledge of where the ball will land.

Jagger didn’t stop, he returned to the casino for several consecutive days. Every day he went in was a day that he won. However the situation soon escalated, gamblers began to replicate his method repeatedly betting on the number seven.

The casino out of desperation decided to shuffle the wheels; all of the wheels were moved and relocated. This was done in hopes of throwing Jagger off of his track. This ploy, at least for a little while worked just fine for the casinos.

But Jagger was one step ahead of the casinos. Before the casinos knew that Jagger was about to make them look like a fool for the rest of history he discreetly scratched the malfunctioning wheel so that he could track it down. Once Jagger had a bad day or two he eyed the wheel and realized that the scratch was missing. He then found the correct table and began to win once more. The casinos then did a complete overhaul and moved the frets on all of the tables on a daily basis.

Jagger’s famous run was then over. Once he realized that he could no longer track the table he packed his bags and left town to never return. He however did take over five-million dollars of winnings with him. The stories of Jagger to this day motivate and inspire gamblers across the world. Perhaps you will be the Joseph Jagger of online roulette.

It’s not realistic to expect similar results to Joseph Jagger when you play roulette online but you should be aiming to play it at the best casinos. The Online Roulette King can help you find the best casinos, just follow this link: http://www.onlinerouletteking.com

The Gamblers Fallacy

Posted on July 30th, 2010 in Sports | No Comments »

There is one thing that will destroy you if you are not careful. I’ve seen this one thing completely annihilate the bankrolls of new players to online roulette studs. It doesn’t matter if you have been around forever, or if you are just starting out.

The thing you must be fearful of is called The Gambler’s Fallacy. The Gambler’s Fallacy is the number one cause for many gamblers downfalls. The Gambler’s Fallacy is nothing new either; it has been around for as long as mankind has been making bets.

To sum it up quickly The Gambler’s Fallacy is the wrongly held belief that past random acts of probability will influence future random acts of probability. For example if a coin is flipped three times in a row and lands on heads, the next flip is not more likely to be tails.

The idea that the roulette table has some sort of memory and makes things balance out is entirely false. The roulette table does not care about what the last spin was, and before every spin the odds are reset to what they normally are.

What makes The Gambler’s Fallacy so deadly is that if somebody who is not versed in mathematics looks at a simple version of the odds it would appear that there is no fallacy. The math would indicate that no such fallacy exists.

To demonstrate what I mean I’ll give you two examples, one example showing why it might look like there is no fallacy. I will then give another example going deeper into the odds to show that The Gambler’s Fallacy exists for a reason.

Imagine that zero is not a factor at the online roulette table. This would make the odds of the ball landing on red 50%. Now if one looks at the math they will see that the chance of the ball landing on red is smaller than 50% and for three times it is even smaller, and so forth. So the chance of the ball landing on red several times in a row is drastically smaller than 50%, and the odds of the ball landing on black are 50%. So at first it looks like it is way more likely to go black after several reds. But when the math is done the odds of the ball going red, red, red, black and red, red, red, red are exactly the same.

Now that you know that The Gambler’s Fallacy will steer you the wrong way you can now improve your online roulette play. There’s no reason to let an idea suck away funds from your bankroll. Your bankroll should be for online roulette, not for feeding a gambling horror.

It doesn’t matter which system you use, it’s crucial that you play Online Roulette at the best casinos. The best casinos are the ones with the quick payment times, one of them is Bet365 Casino

Crimson Tide Fends Off Feisty Vols

Posted on July 29th, 2010 in Football | No Comments »

Alabama didn’t so much win their game against Tennessee on Saturday as much as they escaped. Despite playing one of their worst games of the year they managed to keep their undefeated season alive as nose tackle Terrance Cody blocked a potential game winning field goal on the last play of the game to preserve a 12-10 victory for the Crimson Tide. Alabama held a tenuous 12-3 lead late in the game before a Tennessee touchdown and recovered onside kick had them facing the specter of the defeat for the first time this season. Instead, Alabama improved to 8-0 while Tennessee slipped to 3-4.

College football pointspread players who took Tennessee as +14 road underdogs were in good shape throughout the contest and eventually cashed their tickets. The Vols improved to 4-3 against the spread while the Crimson Tide dropped to 5-3 versus the number. The 22 combined points went well UNDER the posted total of 41′.

After the game, Cody recounted his blocked field goal attempt that saved the day:

“I didn’t really get off the ground. I just reached my arm up. That’s how I got it. I knocked the blocker back. He was on his back.”

First year Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin wasn’t about to call the near miss loss a ‘moral victory’:

“It’s a difficult loss to deal with. You come into a hostile environment and play the No. 1 team in the country, as I said before by far the No. 1 team in the country and the best-coached team around. You come in here and outgain them by nearly 100 yards and miss three field goals. I don’t believe in moral victories, we should have won that game.”

He explained the difficulty that placekicker Daniel Lincoln has getting elevation on his kicks since a quadriceps injury:

“He can’t kick the ball up high. If you kick the ball up high it’s never going to get there, so we can’t allow the penetration up front.”

Alabama coach Nick Saban views the game as a learning experience:

“You talk about how fragile a season is. You’re controlling a game, even though you may say it’s winning ugly. We’re still ahead 12-3 and totally controlling the game with 3 minutes, 29 seconds and the ball. That’s how fragile a season can be. You make one mistake and you have to go overcome it. I hope that there’s a lot of lessons our team can learn from this.”

Alabama has a week off before a tough game at home against LSU on November 7. They’ll play at Mississippi State the following week before a game against FCS Chattanooga on November 21. Tennessee hosts South Carolina next Saturday and Memphis the following week.

Roulette Bandit Review

Posted on July 26th, 2010 in Sports | No Comments »

Recently I tried the roulette bandit system due to its increase in popularity. It’s sold free of hype and exaggeration and seen as how I play online roulette all the time I thought I should give it a go.

The first thing that is worth noting about it is that you will not need to place any large bets in order to use the system properly. The staking plans are very small and no matter what happens they never get too large which makes the system very safe.

In my experience I have found that a lot of systems can spiral out of control and you end up having to place big bets. I have found that you will be able to win slowly and consistently with it.

The possibilities of making a profit seem quite low at the outset, but once you start playing you will see what the aim is. Roulette bandit will not make you a millionaire overnight, but expect to make around a $50 profit per hour with it.

When playing online roulette, this is the amount of money you should expect to regularly win. Get rich quick schemes that you see around never work and the odds are against you if you aim at sustaining large wins in the long term.

You can also buy the system with confidence because it comes with a money back guarantee. Although to be honest I don’t think you will need to get your money because of how safe the system is to use.

I should also say that while the system is effective it is not an answer to poverty or anything like that, it requires work. Also if you have a gambling problem the system is probably not for you.

The roulette bandit system will only work for you if you are willing to give the time and effort required. If you do this and follow the instructions in the eBook step by step, you will have a great chance of consistently winning money.

You will find a lot of information around the Internet about the Roulette Bandit as well as other roulette strategies so you may want to check out another Roulette Bandit Review

Packers Shut Out Lowly Lions

Posted on July 22nd, 2010 in Football | No Comments »

The Green Bay Packers didn’t do a good job protecting their quarterback last Sunday, but against the lowly Detroit Lions it didn’t really matter. Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers was sacked five times, but Green Bay used a big first half offensive outburst to coast to a 26-0 NFL victory over the Detroit Lions. Rodgers threw two first half touchdown passes which was complimented by four Mason Crosby field goals as Green Bay improved to 3-2 on the season. The Lions slumped to 1-5 with the loss.

NFL football betting enthusiasts who backed the Packers as -14 home dogs easily cashed their tickets with Green Bay’s third pointspread cover in five games. Detroit slipped to 2-4 against the spread. The 26 points scored went UNDER the posted total of 48′. Green Bay has gone UNDER in two of their five games this season, while Detroit evened their NFL totals record at 3-3.

In the victory, Packers’ receiver Donald Driver passed Sterling Sharpe for first place on the franchise reception list. Sharpe finished his career with 596 receptions, Driver now has 602. After the game, he talked about the accomplishment:

“It couldn’t it come in a better place — at home in front of the fans I’ve played in front of for so many years. It feels good. Now I just have to wait on Sterling to call me and congratulate me.”

Despite the convincing victory, cornerback Tramon Williams wasn’t happy with the relatively narrow margin:

“It feels like a 50 to zero game, but we didn’t quite get there. I felt we should’ve put more points on the board.”

For the Lions, their quarterback woes continued. Matthew Stafford is already out indefinitely with an injured knee, and against Green Bay backup Daunte Cullpepper injured his hamstring in the third quarter and was replaced by the Lions’ third string quarterback Drew Stanton. Cullpepper is now listed as ‘questionable’ on the official NFL injury report. After the game, he talked about Detroit’s lack of offense:

“It’s very disappointing, very frustrating. It’s embarrassing to me not to be able to move it on the field and get points on the board. We’ve got to figure out a way to do that, simple as that.”

The Packers will play on the road this Sunday, heading to Cleveland to face the Browns. The game is currently off the board as linemakers try to get a handle on the personnel impact of the Browns’ struggle with a flu bug making its way through the locker room. Green Bay will host the Minnesota Vikings the following Sunday followed by a trip to Tampa Bay on November 8. Detroit has a bye this weekend and will return to action as they host the St. Louis Rams on November 1. They’ll play their next two on the road, with games in Seattle and Minnesota.

Understanding NFL Totals

Posted on July 22nd, 2010 in Sports | No Comments »

For the NFL handicapper, understanding the methodology behind NFL totals (also called over/under numbers) is also a crucial component of his wagering arsenal. For those not familiar with NFL totals, its the large number you’ll see accompanying most pointspread betting propositions. For example, the 2009 Superbowl line opened with Pittsburgh a 6 point favorite over Arizona. The total was set at 47. Simply stated, the total allows the better to decide whether the combined score between the two teams will go OVER or UNDER. In the case of the aforementioned Superbowl, Pittsburgh won by a final score of 27-23 meaning that bettors who backed the OVER cashed their tickets.

To the uninitiated, betting on NFL totals can seem very arbitrary. In reality, they’re a valued tool of serious sports handicappers. Many are of the opinion that its easier to accurately foretell the *type* of game that will transpire between two teams rather than who will actually win and by how much. A successful handicapper can look for situations where the total itself is off as well as more subjective factors (weather, injury or matchups) that can contribute to the scoring output or lack thereof.

The basics of setting NFL totals are fairly simple: the bookmaker looks at the offensive and defensive data for the two teams and constructs a number based on points allowed and points scored. If one team had scored 275 points and allowed 350 in their previous sixteen games that’s a total of 625 and their opponent had scored 285 and allowed 400 (685) over 16 games that translates to just under 43 points per game. Add the two numbers together, divide by two and you’ve got a base total of 40.5.

At this point other factors are considered such as the significance of key numbers like 3 and 7 on final scores, weather conditions, injuries, playing surface, etc. Another component that is important is the qualitative matchup between the offense and defense of each team”meaning that a team like the Baltimore Ravens with a strong defense will be more likely to impose their will on a team resulting in a lower final score.

Of course as in the case of the NFL pointspread, public perception is a crucial component of the linesmaking process. For example, the conventional wisdom is that bad weather like rain, snow, or sleet results in lower scores and for that reason a bookmaker will shade the total accordingly. However, its not quite that simple–some handicappers would maintain that sloppy weather can produce higher scores in certain situations as defensive backs aren’t able to cut as well and react to the man their covering. Furthermore, turnovers are in theory more likely in inclement weather.

In conclusion, NFL totals are a very good opportunity for a hard working handicapper to leverage his information about a situational matchup to find good wagering value. Like most elements of the sports handicapping discipline, its not easy to stay a step ahead of the bookmakers who have access to the same weather and injury–and have factored it into the number–but is a very entertaining and potentially rewarding challenge for the NFL bettor.

The Importance Of Poker Discipline

Posted on July 19th, 2010 in Sports | No Comments »

It is true for every sport that discipline is a key factor in consistent success. Despite the common understanding that poker is a gambling game of chance, you have to realize that if one day you are to become a profitable pro, you will have to establish sportsmanlike discipline of learning, understanding, and incessant practice. “Talent” is certainly essential, but even the greatest talent needs a method, and method is acquired from careful study.

In fact, there is no such thing as spontaneous talent: music did not “just made sense” to Mozart - where would he be if he hadn’t spent his childhood practicing? One could say that talent is well-practiced potential. But don’t wait for a freaky father to hit you with a rod over your fingers every time you play the wrong card; impose your own discipline.

The fun of the game to most amateurs lies in the excitement of pitting themselves against blind chance. Poker is popular because of the adrenaline rush that comes with taking a risk. The professional knows his basic chances at poker, but rather than having a pleasurable time, he studies and takes advantage of opponents’ mistakes, remembers them and uses them against them while calculating immediate odds. Chance is only one element to challenge his skill and wits. The pro is not playing a half-blind game of chance, he is playing a strategic game of matching himself against another’s method and besting him.

Because of the many varieties of poker out there that are regularly played, you must learn them all. You must find the one that is best suited to your intuitions, likes and aptitudes. The one that engages you most fully and keeps you focused is the one to choose. Not having this self-imposed introspection, players find themselves plodding soddenly along in a game which is not turning on their best instincts. A professional will tell them to try another form of the game. They are probably amazed at what a talented performer they have become should they take the pros advice.

There is a big difference between limit and no-limit poker. A disciplined player will not yield to temptation and will prefer the game in which he feels in full, cucumber-cool control. In limit poker, disciplined players tend to play with caution, act cool, taking the time to covertly collect information about opponents, intending to milk them by small moves. They will play only the hands worth playing: the best ones play only about 20% of the hands dealt them.

A disciplined no-limit professional will evince the opposite of reserve, will be aggressive before the flop, and will play hands that to the limit expert would seem reckless stunts, always knowing, however, what precisely he is trying to achieve by every aggressive move.

No matter which type of poker the pro is playing, he knows when to fold up his tent, quit the frustration, and move on to other things.

You must never believe that your good fortune, on better days, will go on for eternity. Learn to leave while you are still hot, not when you cool off. During each session, you must not only have a cap on your losses, but also on your gains.

Online Gambling - Not My Cup Of Tea

Posted on July 19th, 2010 in Sports | No Comments »

Don’t get me wrong; I love playing cards. I compete in everything from Blackjack to Poker to Bridge. You name it and I play it. My issue however is that I am not a good online gambler. I can go to Atlantic City and clean house in a few hours but for some reason online gambling and I don’t work out so well. It’s not the best relationship.

When I’m playing online, I tend to lose all my control and normal poker instincts. I feel that because I’m behind a computer screen, I can bet as much as I want, whenever I feel betting. This is probably because I don’t have the normal gambling, Vegas-like surroundings that keep me in bounds and in check. I tend lose lots of dough that way.

One time, I was playing a small number of rounds of Texas on some random gambling site. Four hours into the game I was down 2,000 dollars but I kept going. I was in that poker room for another three hours and I had lost another grand. Usually, if I was in Vegas, I would know when to cap it, but I couldn’t control myself online. My frustration when losing was all contributing heavily to my losses. It was a vicious cycle.

Another problem with online gambling is that it really doesn’t work if you have a sluggish Internet connection. I loathe having to deal with the constant reconnecting, booting, lagging, etc. Imagine playing a game like “Starcraft” or “World of Warcraft” while having an awful connection, it can’t be done. I usually try to go to an Internet Caf or somewhere where I know I can count on the connections.

On top of all this, it sucks not to have all the personal interaction that real life card playing brings. There’s nothing like sippin’ on some brews with your best guys, smoking fatty cigars and blunts and getting super trashed before going home to the Mrs. You just can’t get that with online stuff. Maybe in the future, when virtual reality gets crackin’.

Be careful not to go bankrupt doing online gambling

Texans Win Tough Road Contest Against Bengals

Posted on July 17th, 2010 in Football | No Comments »

Behind a career day for quarterback Matt Schaub, the Houston Texans erased a 17-14 halftime deficit to score– points in the second half and defeat the host Cincinnati Bengals 28-17. Schaub threw for 342 yards and 4 touchdowns against one interception in the solid road victory. Against a team that had won three straight games in the final seconds, Houston never gave Cincinnati the chance to create any late drama. Cincinnati dropped to 4-2 with the loss while Houston evened their record at 3-3.

Houston took the money as +3′ road underdogs with the outright win, and both teams are now 3-3 on the season against the NFL pointspread. The 45 points just managed to stay UNDER the posted total of 46. The Texans have gone UNDER in 4 of 6 this season while the Bengals evened their NFL totals record at 3-3.

After the victory, Schaub said that his team knew of Houston’s penchant for late game comebacks and that ‘putting them away’ would be a priority:

“Every game went down to the wire for them. Credit goes to them because they were able to find ways to win those games. So it was a matter of putting the game away.”

The Texans’ low key head coach Gary Kubiak would only offer that:

“Matt continues to put up exceptional numbers on the road.”

The defense did a stellar job as well, shutting out the Bengals in the second half. In the third quarter, Houston only allowed six yards on nine plays for a franchise record. Cornerback Dunta Robininson talked about the defensive corps mindset:

“It was swarm tackling. Everybody has a job to do, and today we made this team a one-dimensional team. Overall as a defense, we played well.”

In the losing locker room, wide receiver Chad Ochocinco admitted that his team knew that they couldn’t rely on last minute heroics to win games:

“That’s our fault. We’ve been saying that we can’t keep winning with the way we’ve been playing. We’ve got to be consistent for all four quarters.”

The Bengals will play their next two games at home, starting with a contest against the Chicago Bears this Sunday. They’ll host the Baltimore Ravens the following Sunday before traveling to Pittsburgh for a game against the Steelers on November 15. The Texans host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. They’ll take to the road for the next two games, playing Buffalo on November 1 and Indianapolis the following Sunday.

10 Poker Key Tips For Players At All Levels Who Wish To Win More

Posted on July 14th, 2010 in Sports | No Comments »

The only good reason for people to move up and play at higher limit poker games is their ability to win consistently at the lower stakes games and being ready to move up.

Do not ever play poker games at stakes that will make you constantly think about the money used for the game as the actual money used in your daily life or with cash you cannot afford to lose.

Do not play poker at too high stakes games; you need to feel OK with placing money in the pot that you can afford, you need to be able to gamble when you feel your chances are better.

Observe the other players as they play, if you find out that a player has a reliable poker tell whenever he bluffs, it can be very beneficial for you when you get into a hand with him.

While you play poker, one of the most important things you can do is carefully observe your table opponents, even in cases when you are not participating in a hand.

If you are on tilt, you will surly not play your best game. If feel during the game that you are going on tilt, then simply stand up, walk around, take a short break from the table until you feel differently.

Sometimes it may be worth the money to really see if the other poker player has the better hand, if you wish to be gaining playing information that should assist you later on.

Remember that the poker chips and money that you have already contributed to the pot is not your money anymore, and you will not be able to get it back to you simply by playing a less stronger hand then the one the other players at the table have, all the way until the end, to estimate your poker odds you can try using The HoldemRadar poker odds calculator and see where you are.

There are sometime cases when the pot odds allow you to call a bet, but if you strongly feel that you may be beaten anyhow, simply leave it. You can always try to use the Holdem-Radar texas holdem poker calculator to understand your odds to win.

Sometimes it is literally almost impossible to execute a bluff on some players, especially the ones named as calling stations, so remember that it is better never to execute a bluff than to try to bluff, just for the sake of bluffing a person.
