Smoking a cigar with friends after a hard day of work is something that every cigar-smoking aficionado relishes. Just yesterday, a heated discussion on the status a cigar affords us came to light as a group of us were laying around at one of the best Cigar Shop, CA locations.

One of the guys made the comment that smoking a cigar used to seem more prestigious when every Tom, Dick and Harry couldn’t pick one up at any local corner store. He was saying that back when it was a bit harder to get your cigar, it meant more to be a cigar smoker.

This lit a fire under Johnny boy, who got real upset at this. His status as a cool cigar smoker is real important to Johnny and he couldn’t stand that this status was being questioned.

Since he smokes top-of-the-line cigars, Johnny yelled that it doesn’t matter if some guy can pick up a bunch of cheap cigars down at the local corner store or not. He wasn’t smoking some $2 cigar…he was holding the most expensive Diamond Crown a guy can find, he screamed at us.

The rest of us went to work thinking about Johnny’s yelling. Well, truth be told, we were actually thinking much more about that young woman walking by in her high heels.

Well, the rest of us had to start thinking about whether our cool status as cigar smokers had been threatened in some way. After the distraction in a dress was finally out of sight, we were able to get our minds back on our cigar smoking coolness.

The discussion turned nasty as each of us started giving our take on this most important topic. The truth, though, is that Johnny, who was working on drink number three at this point, was doing his best to yell in the faces of those opposing his viewpoint.

Although our group of drunk cigar smokers never did come to a final conclusion, we did get a pretty good answer when our hot girlfriends came to pick us up for an unbelievable night out. As we were all smoking our cigars and holding on to our girls, we were definitely looking down right cool.
